2K5 gets updated mods every year. It’s glorious

As much as I like the saturn, the Dreamcast was clearly the better console. Nothing beats VF3 TB as a game when released. Blew the shit out of everything before it.

Just imagine if EA lost the NFL license or maybe other sports licenses like the NHL or FIFA. Then what? For my answer: have a different studio make possibly a better sports game than EA has ever done. For many rumors about EA, Electronic Arts seems to be obsessed with their finances like Activision and treat their employees like shit for the most part. For Activision, this publisher doesn’t want to give Call of Duty a rest and EA looks like they don’t want to put their sports games to rest anytime soon. Monopolies should be illegal, they should be a crime.

I’ll buy one today. Although I was a N64 kid, your channel opened my eyes to Saturn’s collection of unique games. I love pixelated 32-bit graphics with lots of 2d elements.

I was lucky enough to get this in my Saturn bundle, along with VF and Victory Goal, for my 13th Birthday.

As someone who wants to justify the saturn purchase for additional japanese immersion are there many good story centric games on the system? I always hear it has arcadey kinda games but im more so looking for the dialogue heavy entries

I disagree with people saying the Saturn or sega failed for that matter. It's just not true. They failed about as much as nintendo did once playstation and Xbox came into the picture. Once those 2 were established no one cared about sega or nintendo, n yes I know the nintendo 64 did a little bit as did the wii later but so did the Saturn, 32x . But none of them could get the publishers that Sony and Microsoft got once they got into the gaming world. So I wouldn't say they failed they just didn't survive. Even nintendo can't, they had to make a more kid friendly we're happy in 3rd place console in the switch but let's be honest no real gamer thinks about the nintendo switch when a new game is coming out

As much as EA sucks and almost admitted defeat in its competition with the 2K series, the NFL is just as much to blame. The irony is, for a company whose whole existence is about competition, the NFL have a lengthy history of avoiding or outright discouraging competition.

When I was a little girl I wanted a 3DO just because of this port and the Gex games lol my family couldn’t afford it but I remember reading about them in gaming magazines at the time and thinking they were so cool

All Pro Football 2k8 is my all-time favorite football game. Very good game! Monopoly. Never understood why EA was allowed to do this! Concerning the Dreamcast visuals I simply could not go back to the PS1 football games after having played NFL 2K on Dreamcast . It was like night and day.

The arcade scene was NOT dwindling in 1993. Lol. My first job was at a local arcade in 1996. We had cash deposits of around $50k twice a week.

I'm not into football games like that. I only played three ever. One of them was NFL 2K. I swear it was one of the best games that I ever played. I remember seeing the presentation on that game back then and thinking Sega was in for the long haul and how lifelike it felt. Like I was watching TV. EA knew Sega was a threat. Sega had their card and they couldn't stand it. Now the Madden games are the same year after year. I miss that competition

8:32 Technically there are countries like the UK, Germany, Australia, Mexico, and Brazil that love American Football, and yes, this includes the NFL, so it's no surprise.

Sega always made the best sport-sims. The US needs some kind of anti-monopoly clause to prevent this kind of shit, it stifles competition in the market

When the Dreamcast launched, stores were demoing NFL2K and I literally thought it was a real live football game playing on TV. I might not be the biggest sports fan but back then it was mindblowing.

Dreamcast 2K sports games were the greatest lineup of sports games for any console.

Crazy how my boys I grew up with love football and the 2k series but I've yet to hear anything about Madden in years!

NFL 2k looks really good still. And I disagree about the overall loock being blocky or something like that. Look at their helmets, a lot more rounded than the previous ones. The game has indeed evolved. Sadly Sega already pushed the trigger.

VMU play calling was the feature I loved the most when I was playing against a friend.

In 99 I was dragging my Dreamcast to every friends house and amazing them with my Dreamcast and laughing at their childish pixelation.
